DermaRite DermaLevin Waterproof Adhesive Foam Island Dressing, 4 in x 4 in
PRODUCT DETAILS
DermaRite DermaLevin is a moderately absorbent, waterproof, adhesive foam island dressing, 4 in x 4 in (10.2 cm x 10.2 cm), made of polyurethane foam. It protects and cushions the wound and holds a moist wound environment that supports moist wound healing and autolytic debridement, while its exudate management helps minimize maceration of the surrounding skin and supports normalization of wound bed temperature. The foam will not adhere to the wound bed, the backing is waterproof, and the dressing conforms easily to awkward-to-dress areas. It is not made with natural rubber latex.
DermaLevin is used for the management of acute or chronic partial and full thickness wounds and ulcers with moderate drainage (exudate). A dressing on an open wound absorbs drainage and keeps the skin from closing before the wound underneath fills in, and a dressing is used only once, never reused.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is foam dressing used for?
Foam dressings are used for moderate to heavily exuding wounds such as pressure ulcers, post-surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers, and traumatic wounds. They absorb fluid, protect the wound, and support healing.
How often should foam dressings be changed?
Foam dressings are typically changed every 3 to 7 days or as needed depending on the amount of exudate. Always follow the wound care professional’s recommendations.
How do foam dressings work?
Foam dressings absorb exudate while keeping the wound moist. They help prevent infection, reduce pain, and protect the wound from external contaminants.
Can foam dressings be used on infected wounds?
Some foam dressings are formulated with antimicrobial agents suitable for infected wounds. Always consult with a healthcare provider before applying to an infected site.
Are foam dressings suitable for dry wounds?
Foam dressings are typically not recommended for dry wounds because they are designed to absorb moisture. Hydrogel dressings may be more appropriate for dry or necrotic wounds.
Do foam dressings stick to wounds?
Non-adherent foam dressings do not stick to wounds and are gentle during removal. Adhesive foam dressings stick around the wound, not directly on it.
