PRODUCT DETAILS
DermaRite DermaFilm is a sterile hydrocolloid wound dressing that keeps a low exudating wound moist while staying permeable to moisture vapor. Its mild adhesive holds to the periwound skin, the skin around the wound, but does not stick to the wound bed, and the dressing is easy to apply and comes off cleanly. It supports moist wound healing and autolytic debridement, provides thermal insulation and protection, and is comfortable and conformable. It can be safely worn for several days, depending on the wound and how much it drains (exudate levels).
DermaFilm may be used as a primary dressing directly on the wound or as a secondary dressing over another one, for low exudating wounds, including non-infected wounds and partial thickness and full-thickness ulcers. It comes in two versions, the High Density HD and the Thin with Border, each in its own size. Every dressing is sterile and not made with natural rubber latex.
A stage I or II pressure sore is kept covered with a dressing, which protects against infection and helps keep the sore moist so it can heal. The type of dressing is chosen with your provider, and a hydrocolloid such as DermaFilm is one that keeps the wound moist.
