The Accu-Chek Aviva Blood Glucose Control Solution is a two-level (Level 1 and Level 2) glucose control kit used to verify that an Accu-Chek Aviva meter and its test strips are reading correctly before you rely on a reading. It works with the original Accu-Chek Aviva, the Accu-Chek Aviva Plus, Accu-Chek Aviva Connect, Accu-Chek Aviva Combo, and Accu-Chek Aviva Expert systems, using Accu-Chek Aviva test strips and Accu-Chek Aviva Plus test strips. The control solution acts like blood when you apply it to an Accu-Chek Aviva or Accu-Chek Aviva Plus test strip, so the meter reads it the same way it reads a blood sample. It is for in vitro diagnostic use only, and the system automatically distinguishes control-solution results from whole blood samples. Sold as a box of one two-level control kit.

How to Read the Result
If the result alternates with OK on the display, it is in range and the meter and test strips are working properly. If it alternates with Err, it is not in range. The acceptable range for each control solution is printed on the test strip container label.
Storage and Handling
Write the date you open the bottle on the bottle label. Discard the bottle 3 months after opening or on the Use by date on the bottle label, whichever comes first. The unopened bottle is stable until the Use by date (24 months from manufacture). Store the control solution at room temperature (36–90 °F). Do not freeze. Do not use control solution past the Use by date.
Limits
Do not put the control solutions in your mouth or inject them — they are for use outside the body only. Choking hazard: small parts, keep away from children under the age of 3 years. The control solution can stain clothing; if you spill it, wash your clothes with soap and water. Use only the Accu-Chek Aviva control solutions.
