Cardinal Health Curity AMD antimicrobial gauze sponges are sterile, woven 4 in x 4 in (10.2 cm x 10.2 cm) dressings impregnated with 0.2% PHMB (polyhexamethylene biguanide) to resist bacterial colonization within the dressing and reduce bacterial penetration through it. The broad-spectrum action provides protection against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, fungi, and yeast, including MRSA and VRE, and limits cross-contamination between patient, clinician, and environment. Sold as a plastic tray of 10 sponges, each 12-ply woven sponge is hypoallergenic, single-use, and labeled as not containing natural rubber latex.
