Ameda Dual HygieniKit Milk Collection System, Sterile

The Ameda Dual HygieniKit is a sterile, closed breast milk collection system for use only on Ameda electric breast pumps. A patented silicone diaphragm creates a barrier that keeps the collected milk separate from the pump's suction source, so the milk does not pass through the tubing. Its universal design works with most Ameda breast pumps, including the Platinum, Elite, Joy, and Joy Plus. Sold as one kit.

What's in the Kit

Each kit includes 2 silicone tubings, 2 adapter caps, 1 tubing adapter, 2 breast flanges with a 25 mm opening, 2 4 oz (118 mL) bottles, 2 locking rings and locking disks, clear check valves, and coated silicone diaphragms.

Flange Fit

This kit's flanges have a 25 mm opening. To check your flange fit, watch your nipple during pumping: it should move freely within the flange tunnel with space around it. If the nipple rubs the tunnel sides, the flange is too small; if more areola is drawn into the tunnel, it is too large. Other Ameda HygieniKits include three flange sizes (25, 28.5, and 30.5 mm).

Single or Dual Pumping

For dual pumping, both tubes attach to the tubing adapter. To pump one breast, remove one tube and close the tubing adapter.

Cleaning

After each use, wash all parts in warm soapy water except the tubing, the adapter caps, and the tubing adapter, which are neither boiled nor washed. The flanges and bottles can go on the upper dishwasher rack, away from the heating elements. Wash the diaphragms and valves gently by hand, and do not insert anything into a valve while cleaning it.

Personal Use

This is a personal care item: it should never be shared between mothers or resold from one mother to another, and use by more than one person voids the warranty.
