The 3M Tegaderm I.V. Advanced Securement Dressing is a transparent film dressing for advanced securement and stabilization of I.V. and central line catheters. A flexible stabilization border keeps the edges down, and the dual pattern-coated adhesive builds securement strength over 24 hours while the breathable film manages moisture at the site. The waterproof film keeps the insertion site continuously visible, and the dressing can be worn for up to seven days, until soiled or no longer intact.

Application and Care
Prepare the site per facility protocol and allow all preps and protectants to dry completely before applying. Do not stretch the dressing at placement; apply firm, gentle pressure over the film and smooth it into the skin. Choose a size that leaves at least a one-inch margin of adherence on dry, healthy skin around the catheter site; clipping hair at the site may improve adhesion, and shaving is not recommended. 3M Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film may be applied to the skin, avoiding the area immediately surrounding the insertion site. Observe the site daily for signs of infection or other complications; if infection is suspected, remove the dressing, inspect the catheter site directly, and determine appropriate medical intervention. Change the dressing at least every seven days, or sooner if it becomes loose, soiled or damp, or as directed by facility protocol. Remove it with a low and slow technique, peeling the film back toward the catheter insertion site rather than pulling it up from the skin.
