The Cardinal Health Infant Heel Warmer is a single-use, squeeze-activated chemical warmer from the Localized Temperature Therapy line, sized 4 in x 4 in (10.2 cm x 10.2 cm) and secured to the heel with an adhesive tab. It is held on an infant's heel for 1 to 3 minutes, checking every 30 seconds, until the blood vessels dilate, which makes blood sampling easier. Contents are food grade sodium acetate and water, all non-toxic, and the pack reaches 104 F (40 C) from a 75 F (24 C) starting temperature. Sold as a box of 25 warmers.
