Thigh-Length Stocking Size Guide

Measuring instructions for thigh length stockings:

Measure upper thigh circumference at buttock fold.
Measure calf circumference at greatest point.

Thigh Circumference	Calf Circumference
Below 25 in.	Small: Below 12 in.
Below 25 in.	Medium: 12-15 in.
Below 25 in.	Large: 15-17.5 in.

3. Measure length from heel to buttock fold.

Short: below 29 in.
Medium: 29-33 in.
Long: above 33 in.

Contraindications

Stockings may not be recommended for individuals with the following:

Any leg condition in which stockings would interfere, such as dermatitis (skin problems), gangrene, vein ligation (recent leg surgery), and recent skin graft
Severe vascular diseases, such as arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) that cause poor circulation to the leg
Massive edema (swelling) of the legs, or pulmonary edema (fluid in the lungs) from congestive heart failure
Extreme deformity of the leg
For thigh length stockings, person with a circumference greater than 25 inches at the gluteal furrow
